DESCRIPTION:Förstberg Ling is an office for architecture and design established in 2015 and based in Malmö\, Sweden. From interiors and furniture to larger buildings\, the studio focuses on detailing and materiality. \nBjörn Förstberg and Mikael Ling first met at the architecture school in Lund\, Sweden\, from which they graduated in 2009/2010 after spending a year at the College of Art in Edinburgh. \nTheir project House for Mother was shortlisted for the Private House Award in 2016 by Architects Sweden and won the Plåtpriset Award in 2017. Förstberg Ling was one of twenty practices chosen by Wallpaper magazine for the Architect’s Directory 2017. \nThe studio’s process often begins with an intriguing detail or an unexpected combination of materials\, spaces or functions. From that starting point\, a framework is created\, a set of rules\, out of which the project grows. While this framework defines the whole it’s also refined to a couple of well-crafted details. \n  \n„House for mother“ is a house that balances spatiality with intimate rooms\, formal simplicity with strong materiality. The corrugated aluminium facade reflect the ever changing surroundings – a richness at play with the otherwise simple expression of the exterior. In contrast to the stark facade\, plywood lined walls and wooden beams give warmth to the interior.
